Single-origin chocolate is created using only one variety of cacao harvested in one region. Cacao is a plant that takes on the characteristics of the region it grows in. This is what gives it unique characteristics and flavor profiles. Similar to wine, cacao can be floral, earthy, herbal or fruity. Master Chef Anita Pluymen prefers the distinctive tastes of single-origin chocolate, making it simple to trace the origins of our products and know the sustainability of the farms where our chocolate is grown.
